Away with Words

'We have our Arts so we won’t die of Truth.' - Nietzsche

‘Time and Tide’ - a poem I turned into a song:

We live under a spell
Hoping that time will tell
But time has no designs on how we feel
We must load the deck before the deal.

Blindly resigned to fate
Our dreams will soon stagnate and
Dampened by the stormclouds of our fears
Passion fades until it disappears.

The thorn in my side sinks deeper
But to swallow my pride is too much to concede
I’d much rather bleed, tonight.

And so the scars remain
Upon the shores of pain
Eternal are the lessons learned this way
No tumbling tide shall ever wash away.

A delicate mind seems bleaker
So flash me a smile as I’m starting to slide
The dark will subside, tonight.

Lights in the sky bring healing
Blankets of stars dance in time with the moon
My heart falls in tune
Knowing that their love will reach me soon.
