Discretion
Startled by the sirens, He is heavy on his feet, In a weathered Winter jacket On a sticky Summer street. And the hurried people don’t have time to see. And the happy people wish he were a little more discrete.

The Flavour of Fervour
I don’t like the flavour of fervour, It leaves a most turbulent taste, Emotion unleashed is a virulent beast, So much feeling and oh! what a waste.

A hunter never hunting,
A fighter slow to fight,
A lover tired of loving,
A dreaming mind, despite.

Serenity in the city, The eye of a swirling storm. The delicate call of silence Is lost in the moving swarm.

Courage under fire From a deluge of desire With an alcohol infusion Causing arrogant confusion.

I stood on the brink of remorse
Surveying the streams of my youth,
But tears never alter their course
And time never tarnishes truth.
Permission Remission
Tolerance: A fair, objective, And permissive attitude. Permissive! Who grants their permission For contrary thinking? Who fires at vessels Stricken and sinking? Bigotry boggles the mind But only when conscience prevails. Compassion brings calm to the storm, Acceptance gives wind to the sails.
